Emanuele Cantamesse created “ANTWERP ANTIFASHION” as his thesis for the undergraduate course in Fashion Styling & Creative Direction at Istituto Marangoni Milan.
The work—described by the author as a “chronicle of Antwerp fashion”—explores and delves into the past, present, and future role of the Belgian city within the realms of fashion and visual arts. Beginning with the first significant figures from the early 20th century, the work dissects Antwerp’s evolving scene, analyzing the various personalities and factors that contributed to its development, and concludes with reflections on the city’s future.
